Journey around the world (speaking task)

SPEAKING TASK:

Activity name: “Journey around the world”.

Aim: To encourage speaking practice in English as children explore different countries and cultures.

Materials needed:

- Cards with names of countries.

- Pictures representative of each country.

Description of the activity:

1. Divide the children into teams of three or four.

2. Place the country name cards face down on the table.

3. One representative from each team chooses a card at random.

4. The team has 3 minutes to discuss what they know about that country and what they would like to know.

5. After the 3 minutes, the team must present what they have learned about that country in English, using the pictures provided as visual support.

6. The other teams can ask questions about the country shown.

7. At the end, you can discuss what they have learned and which countries they would like to visit one day.

This activity not only encourages speaking in English, but also promotes research, teamwork, and cultural exchange among the children.
